TRAIL DONATION – Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce presented a $1,000 check to the Syracuse-Wawasee Trails Committee recently. Accepting the donation are, from left, Mike and Sandra Buhrt, as Beth Kroes of Edward Jones and Tammy Cotton of the chamber make the presentation.
The chamber raised the funds by serving Kroes’ award winning ham and bean soup, along with corn bread donated by the Sleepy Owl, at the Fall Harvest Festival at Crosson Mill Park in October. The donation will go toward the matching grant from K21 Foundation.
The chamber is encouraging donations to the project, which connects the trail at Pickwick Drive, providing bikers and walkers direct access to the village from downtown and the lakes. (Mail Journal)
